Axial Health COVID-19 Rapid Test
Axial Health’s COVID-19 Ag test is a lateral flow immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid protein (NP) antigen from SARS-CoV-2 in direct saliva from individuals suspected of COVID-19. Lateral flow immunochromatographic assay provides an easy workflow, short turnaround time, and rapid diagnosis of COVID-19 suspected patients.
The test contains latex bead conjugate pad and a membrane strip pre-coated with antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2 antigen on the test line. If the sample contains the antigen, it will interact with the latex bead-labeled COVID-19 anti-SARS-COV-2 NP antibodies on the conjugate pad and a visible red band will appear on the test line (T). If test line not appear, the result considered negative. The control line (C) is used for procedure control and should always appear if the test is performed correctly.
Pain-free for Frequent TestingIf we are testing frequently, it is important that people are comfortable and confident with their tests. Axial Health Saliva tests make the experience pain-free and easy to perform, which creates a better testing experience for users.
Children and Elderly FriendlyWe know that frequent testing for COVID-19 isn’t ideal. That’s why we designed our saliva tests to be as stress-free and accessible as possible. Because everyone deserves access to testing that is comfortable and easy.
We have created a new type of COVID-19 test by fundamentally rethinking the mechanisms that underpin detection. We have taken cues from pharmaceutical and drug discovery fields, combining next-generation sensing technology with a user first approach. Our patented test uses the COVID-19 virus’s binding mechanism as a trigger, mimics a human cell and detect if a virus can bind to it. Our unique detection method has enable the development of an antigen test that is accurately using only saliva. We are achieving 100% specificity, 99.03% accuracy and 96.3 sensitivity, which is more sensitivity than other rapid antigen tests, as it is able to pickup the presence of the virus even in a small sample.
Why Frequent Test
We believe that frequent testing is the key to get back to normal. Early epidemic growth has in part been ascribed to insufficient diagnostic testing, due to lapses in laboratory capacity, valid polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay availability, testing material availability, and effective targeting criteria. The chance of detecting the virus that causes COVID-19 increases with more frequent testing.
Several studies has shown that frequent testing can be really effective at catching COVID-19 infections and potentially blocking transmission. With the rise of variants, frequent testing it the key for blocking the spread of virus.
